THE ATTIRE OF CASCAMORRAS |

Â
Â
"Cascamorras" has the look of a buffoon, a harlequin. His costume is made in two parts, a jacket and trousers, made of felt in three main colours: red, yellow and green. On the back of his jacket there is the picture of a jar of sunflowers, in the middle of which there is a painted outline of "Cascamorras", whilst on the front of his jacket can be seen drawings of suns, stars and moons, placed on top of the fabric.
He carries a flag in six different colours; three on the front: green, white and pink; whilst on the back there are three others: yellow, red and sky blue. On the white cloth is the image of Our Lady of Mercy. These fabrics are hoisted on a wooden mast from which hang ribbons which groups and brotherhoods offer up to the Virgin.

Â
Â
The truncheon, the only means of defence allowed for the "Cascamorras", is made of a wooden shaft, from the end of which hangs a piece of string ending in a knot covered with sheepskin.
